NTFP inventory and investment opportunities in Uganda

Wild Resources Limited has been contracted to undertake two consultancies for the forest sector in Uganda. The first was in 2003 for the Forestry Department and the second in 2004 for the Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment. The former was concerned with ntfp inventory in the context of both on-going state forest inventory and with community members as part of collaborative forest management initiatives. During this visit, the consultant was requested to prepare a presentation for the FAO regional meeting on bamboo and rattan. The latter was concerned with identifying and preparing promotional materials for those ntfps with the best chance of supporting income generating opportunities.
